fXplorer is freeware. I am currently planning to release its source code to a responsible maintainer. fXplorer v2 is written in C++ without using MFC. If you are interested in maintaining fXplorer 2.0 please email me.

There are no special requirements for running fXplorer, except that you must be using Windows 95/98/2000 or NT 4.0.
