		<description>Oh yes, it could also be they are using more current in Africa than we use here.  Of course, your hair dryer doesn&#039;t need that much current now does it?  Seems like a waste of electiricty.</description>

		<description>You must be sheltered.  Go to Home Depot, you can buy large wall plug sockets for special equipement that uses them.  We had one for the welder we used in our garage.

The point is that if you don&#039;t have that much current going through the wiring they don&#039;t need to be big, of course the materials that were made in south africa perhaps are not as good and need to be thicker.

In any case, large equipement like a welder usuaually do have large plugs here in america since they require more current.</description>
